Your Child’s Safety Is Important To Us!

One of our greatest fears as a parent is that one of our children could get lost, go missing or be abducted.
Because Boudreau Dental Studio feels strongly about protecting our children, we will offer a free
Toothprints® ID System with every cleaning & exam during the Summer months for children in the age ranges of 3-4, 8-9 and 11-12 years.

It is a simple technique using an arch-shaped thermaplastic wafer that we soften in hot water, then place on the patient’s lower arch. The child bites into the wafer for 50 seconds. This records tooth characteristics, tooth position and upper & lower jaw relationship. It also captures saliva which can be used for DNA testing or a source of human scent effective for dog tracking.

Your child’s “tooth print” will be sealed in a plastic bag and sent home with the parents for safe keeping. In March 2008, a German shepherd picked up the scent of a missing 7 year old boy from the saliva from his tooth print impression. The boy was found standing behind a building. The article can be found at this link-

Summer is a great time to get children in for their cleaning and exam appointments. Call to schedule an appointment and take advantage of this free offer on the Toothprints® ID System.

SUMMER BLEACHING SPECIAL

Here at Boudreau Dental Studio, we want to give our patients a dazzling white smile with our custom fit tooth whitening tray system.

If you have had your teeth cleaned in our office in the last 6 months, just call for a 10 minute appointment for the required impressions of your teeth. If you are due for your cleaning, you will get better results if we clean and polish your teeth first, as the bleach cannot penetrate through the plaque and tartar.

Being cavity free is a must for bleaching, as your teeth could be sensitive from the process.

WE ARE CURRENTLY OFFERING A SUMMER BLEACH SPECIAL AT THE GREAT PRICE OF $100 (NORMALLY $290) FOR THE ENTIRE SYSTEM.

“I Have Dentures, Do I Still Need to Come In?”

Absolutely!! Surprisingly, people with complete dentures should be seen by a dentist once a year.
Oral cancer is the sixth most common form of cancer with roughly 40,000 new cases reported in the United States each year. With early detection, oral cancer is 80-90% survivable. Your best defense is a yearly exam by your family dentist.
The fit, function and esthetics of the dentures can also be assessed at the time. As we age, the tissues and bony support changes in the mouth. This leads to ill-fitting dentures that can cause sore spots and chewing problems, not to mention the embarrassment of “slippage.” Sometimes a simple reline will correct the problem or if the dentures are more than 7 years old, you might want to consider getting a new set. Your old dentures could then be designated as your “spares”. That way, you’ll never have to go without your smile.

We can't cure what we can't see!

In keeping with our goal to provide the very best service and latest technology available, we are announcing the use of a new diagnostic instrument for the detection of cavities called Diagnodent.

If you cannot detect the disease, how can you treat it? A suspicious-looking tooth presents a treatment dilemna for dentists. Should the tooth be opened up? What if decay is not found? Should the tooth just be watched, or does that give the decay more time to destroy the tooth? The Diagnodent, approved by the FDA for the detection of beginning stages of early tooth decay, is a hand-held laser, similar to a laser pointer. The Diagnodent measures laser fluorescence within tooth structure. At the specific wavelength that the Diagnodent laser operates, clean healthy tooth structure exhibits little or no fluorescence, resulting in a very low scale reading on the Diagnodent display. A tooth with decay will exhibit fluorescence, proportional to the degree of decay, resulting in an elevated scale reading. Catching decay early means fillings required are simpler and shallower, preserving more of the tooth.

This procedure is provided as a service to our patients. The Diagnodent will be used in addition to radiographs (x-rays) for the diagnosis of cavities. Not every patient will require the use of this device – only areas that the hygienist or dentist has deemed suspicious of a possible cavity. This new “tool” is just another way of ensuring our patients optimum dental care.

IS SOMEONE KEEPING YOU AWAKE AT NIGHT?

Well, you are not alone. It is estimated that more than 80 million people in North America have a snoring problem. This disorder is usually very disturbing to friends or family who are trying to sleep as well, creating tension and animosity. For the majority of snorers the most affordable, non-invasive, comfortable and effective snoring solution remains the dentist prescribed oral snoring preventative device, SILENT NITE®.

What Causes Snoring?

During sleep, the muscles and soft tissues in the throat and mouth relax makingsilentnite_before[1]1.jpg the breathing airway smaller. This decrease in the airway space increases the velocity of airflowing through the airway during breathing causing the soft tissues to vibrate. These vibrations result in what is called “noisy breathing” or snoring.

How Does The SILENT NITE® Prevent Snoring?

The SILENT NITE® device gently moves the lower jaw forward by means of connsilentnite_after[1].jpgectors that are attached to transparent, flexible upper and lower forms. SILENT NITE® keeps the airway open preventing snoring, while promoting a deeper, more restful sleep.

More Restful Sleep May Be In Your Future

We have a simple checklist that will help determine the exact design of your SILENT NITE® and whether this device could help you or your loved ones obtain better, more healthful and restful sleep.
